The 2005 Suncoast Regional MAA meeting will take place on the campus of New College of Florida  in Sarasota, Florida, on Friday, December 2, 2005.   The Suncoast Mathematics Community is warmly invited to attend.

As in the past, there will be concurrent sessions in which participants are welcome to present material in their field of interest.  We are currently planning to run three concurrent sessions with session talks grouped thematically (for example,  student work, pedagogy, and research in mathematics).   Those wishing to give a presentation at the meeting should look here  for details concerning scheduling, format and technical support.

This year's  plenary speaker will be Professor Paul Loya,   Binghamton University, who will speak on "The Fundamental Theorem of Algebra."

On site registration will begin at 2:00PM at the Heiser Natural Science Complex on the day of the conference.   The registration fee is $10 for each non-student and $1 for each student.   There is an electronic  registration form  which all participants are strongly encouraged to complete.   The information gleaned from the registration form will be used to help determine the required number of local maps, refreshments, seats for the banquet, etc.

Contributed paper sessions will begin at 3:00PM, and the plenary address is scheduled to begin at 6:00PM.  There will be a meeting banquet which will begin at  7:15PM.     Seating for the banquet will be limited to 60.  Information concerning the banquet (including menu choices and prices) can be found here,   and all those interested in participating in the banquet are encouraged to  register electronically  and pre-pay.
